An entertaining, if somewhat predictable film with some great fight sequences and all star cast.

The Dirty Dozen (1967) was inspired by Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven, and in turn inspired everything from to The Inglorious Bastards (Italy) to The A-Team, from The Expendables to Suicide Squad to Rogue One.

In 1970, writer Robert Kanigher created an expendable Justice League out of various War comics heroes of the previous decade called The Losers, often with memorable covers by legendary artist Joe Kubert. Its anti-war sentiment concurrent with Vietnam made it a brave cult hit. By 2004, the concept was rethought by writer Andy Diggle and artist Jock as a Special Ops team betrayed by their CIA handlers, and adapted into this film (featuring four vets from other superhero films).
