Darren says

I think this movie was worse than the first one. Did Vanilla Ice to the song for it? I think so.

It suffers from shoe horning too much marketing into the character's success.

Or, how adult comics get transitioned into kids films.

The print comic had been written for the adult direct sales market as a dark parody of '80s violence culture, but the cartoon exploded into success with bright zaniness for kids. Parents unaware of the comic expected the cartoon on the silver screen. After the triumph of the first flick, the darkness and violence were toned-down here to be closer to the light-hearted animated. It drove away the diehard readers by trying to bring in the kids, resulting in a mixed bag too soft for the former and still too hard for the latter. But the money machine was still on auto-pilot at this point.
