Darren says

Brandon Lee's best performance in a gorgeous, gothic revenge tale.

Entertaining and pretty faithful to the source.

The emotional impact of the real life loss resonates so well in that film.

James O'Barr's indie comic series was created as a catharsis for a personal tragedy. Its damaged antihero, a dark vigilante aided by the spirit world, became as much a totem for the Goth community as Gaiman's concurrent "Sandman". With terrible irony, the film version about resurrection and retribution suffered the loss of the accidental death of star Brandon Lee, a factor that sparked breakout financial success as well as canonizing it with a cult audience.
