There are many fine tributes to mid '60s spy films, and this isn't one of them.

I feel like I should have cared more about the character than I did. It lacks an emotional connection.

A fun, stylized spy movie in Vaughn's style, but ultimately somewhat forgettable.

"The Secret Service" comic, by writer Mark Millar and artist Dave Gibbons (co-creator of "Watchmen"), homaged the mid-'60s spy chic of Bond and Steed. Millar had just worked with director Matthew Vaughn on Kick-Ass, leading to this swift screen revamp. In a perverse turn, Mark Hamill -who had a demented cameo as himself in the comic- plays an alternate character in this revision.
